Over on our forum, DJ Jecky Dungeon siege 2 walkthrough. asked whether he should upgrade his Denon DJ MC6000 to either the Denon DJ MC7000 or the Pioneer DDJ-SX2. Bearing in mind he’s already a Denon DJ controller user, and also that we haven’t actually tested the MC7000 yet, here is our response to him:

Firstly they’re both great controllers. even though we haven’t seen the MC7000 yet, we know it will be because it’s based on the MCX8000 which definitely is. You don’t get the screens or the Engine USB standalone functions, but what you do get is an awesome four-channel Serato DJ controller, pro built. But then again, that’s exactly the same deal with Pioneer’s DDJ-SX2 (here’s our DDJ-SX2 review). So how to choose?

One of the standout features of the Denon DJ MC7000 is it has two USB sockets for two laptops, meaning easy swapping of DJs. This is something the Pioneer unit doesn’t offer. But the Pioneer unit has an ace up its sleeve too, namely that it also works with Pioneer’s Rekordbox DJ software, so effectively you’re buying a controller that gives you two choices of software to use. This may be useful if you ever want to DJ on Pioneer pro CDJ equipment, for instance, as the same library will work across both your controller and that gear with Rekordbox.

Is the Denon DJ MC7000 supported with Virtual DJ, Traktor or any other DJ program? The Denon DJ MC7000 has been developed from the ground up as an amazing controller for Serato DJ. Denon DJ and Serato have carefully tuned and mapped each control to create the best possible out-of-the-box user experience with the included Serato DJ software. Flexibility with playlists – rekordbox, serato, traktor playlist compatibility is a great feature, I hope it will be still developed to add more possibilities. Mixer link – this opens the real power of Prime setup – decks „talk” with the mixer on another level – I love the auto assign feature and color coding the channels. 5.8.6 has been released. Info 16 March, 2021 Android version of the popular rekordbox mobile app (ver. 3.0) has arrived.

As is pointed out in the forum thread this was originally asked on though, both controllers are pretty big – if you regularly play cramped DJ booths, you may want to investigate further options that are bit smaller (like the Denon DJ MC4000 or Pioneer DDJ-SR, for instance).

Denon Dj Mc7000 Case

Denon DJ has sneaked out a brand-new pro turntable here at Amsterdam Dance Event. Called the Denon DJ VL12, it’s unusual in that it is a genuinely new design, as opposed to the vast majority of post-Technics turntables out there, that are rebadged but essentially almost identical to each other.

The tonearm base is all-metal, its pitch control has options up to +/-50%, and it is possible to switch the motor from high to low torque depending on your preference (I’m not sure why anyone would want it set to low torque; if somebody can enlighten me, please do so).

We were also shown how you can change the colour of the lighting underneath the platter; non-essential of course, but I am sure to many it would be seen as a pretty cool feature. We have no word on availability or price – but in better news, we do have a video of the changing light colours underneath the platter (see below).
