- arithmetic progression - A sequence in which each term is obtained by the addition of a constant number to the preceding term, as 1, 4, 7, 10, 13.
- initialism, alphabetism, acronym - Initialisms (sometimes called alphabetisms) are formed from the initial letters of a string of words and are pronounced as a sequence of letters, e.g. BYOB, USA, DVD. Acronyms are formed from the initial letters or parts of words in a sequence, but have the distinction of being pronounceable words, e.g. RADAR, SCUBA.

Séquences is a French-language film magazine originally published in Montreal, Quebec[1] by the Commission des ciné-clubs du Centre catholique du cinéma de Montréal, a Roman Catholicfilm society.[2] It is the third oldest film magazine in publication after Les Cahiers du cinéma and Positif.[3]

Séquences was founded in 1955.[3] The publication was edited for forty years by Léo Bonneville, a member of the Clerics of Saint Viator and Quebec film scholar.[4][5] In 2009 the website of the magazine was launched.[3] Élie Castiel is the editor of Séquences.[3]
